Bootle Glass staff have recently completed Regulation 14 Training. The purpose of the training is to ensure the compliance of glass in schools, universities, hospitals and other public buildings.
Regulation 14 of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992
Regulation 14 of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 deals with the requirements for glazed areas in workplaces. Specifically, it stipulates that every window or other transparent or translucent surface in a wall or partition, and every transparent or translucent surface in a door or gate, must be of safety material or be protected against breakage if the location is such that it would likely cause a risk to health or safety if it were to break.
Furthermore, Regulation 14 mandates that transparent or translucent surfaces, in a door or gate or in a wall or partition where people might accidentally collide with them, must be appropriately marked or incorporate features so as to make them conspicuous. This is to prevent accidents or injuries from people walking into or striking against glass and similar materials.
The Requirements For Safety Glass In Buildings
This training received provides the knowledge needed to understand the requirements for safety glass in buildings with particular emphasis given to Regulation 14 of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992, leading to how to identify the possible need for the application of safety film and safety glass and how to carry out a Regulation 14 survey.
